We are settling into our basketball schedule! Here's the schedule for the rest of this week:

JV/Varsity Boys' Basketball

• Wednesday, 11/19: Practice at Metro Deaf from 5-6:30pm

Girls' Basketball Game & Practice Schedule Info

GIRLS' BASKETBALL INFO

For the girls' team, please complete registration no later than this Friday!It's important that we move out of the registration phase as quickly as we can so that all players are on the court and getting as much play time as possible.

The girls' team will practice at TCA Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. They will practice at Metro Deaf on Wednesdays from 5 to 6:30pm. Please watch the Athletics Calendar closely for accurate practice information!

One final item - the Metro Deaf gym is not available this Friday, Nov. 21. Both the girls' and boys' teams will practice at TCA from 4:30pm to 6:30pm this Friday, Nov. 21.

Boys' Basketball Practice & Game Schedule Info

BOYS' BASKETBALL INFO

All forms and fees need to be in for your athlete to continue practicing! We have a few players with outstanding items and in order to move from registration phase to the regular season, those items need to be completed ASAP!

In order to make the practice schedule more consistent, the boys' team is going to practice at Metro Deaf School this season from 5pm to 6:30pm. Please continue to watch the Athletics Calendar closely for accurate practice information! There will be occasional practices at TCA due to scheduling conflicts but for the most part, the boys' team will be practice at Metro Deaf for the remainder of the season.

One scheduling conflict - the Metro Deaf gym is not available this Friday, Nov. 21. Both the girls' and boys' teams will practice at TCA from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on Friday, Nov. 21!

Volunteer opportunities for the Charter Stars!

• Girls' Basketball Stats/Official book: Are you a stats person and love Varsity Basketball? We need someone to keep the official book for the season. You wouldn't have to be at every game but we would like a person who can be at as many home games as possible. Our home games are played at Metro Deaf School in St. Paul (1471 Brewster St. 55108), which is located near Great River. The team reviews these tapes throughout the season to review performance and develop strategy. You wouldn't have to be at every game but we would like a person who can be at as many home games as possible. Our home games are played at Metro Deaf School in St. Paul (1471 Brewster St. 55108), which is located near Great River. Bonus if you have your own video equipment and can make weekly copies of the recordings for the coaches. Charter Stars Soccer Team wins Semifinal game!

Congratulations to the Charter Stars on their 4-0 win over Community of Peace Academy in today's EMAC tournament Semifinals game! Today's win means the Stars play again on Thursday, 10/23 at 4:15pm at National Sports Center in Blaine. We play Nova Classical Academy, the #1 seed, so it promises to be a competitive and fun game.

• Girls' Basketball: This is the first year of our Girls' Varsity program! Practices and tryouts start on Monday, November 17. Practices will be held at Twin Cities Academy in the gym, or at Metro Deaf School (1471 Brewster St., St. Paul 55108 - next door to Hmong Academy). We welcome Coach Wiggen (TCA teacher and former Charter Stars Cheerleading Coach) to the program! $150 Activity Fee payable to your attendance school.
  
• Boys' Basketball: We hope to have enough players for both JV and Varsity this year! Practices and tryouts start on Monday, November 10.  Practices will be held at Twin Cities Academy in the gym, or at Metro Deaf School (1471 Brewster St., St. Paul 55108 - next door to Hmong Academy). We welcome Head Coach Coughlin (TCA teacher) to the program! $150 Activity Fee payable to your attendance school.
  
• Cheerleading: The team will cheer for both Boys' and Girls' basketball games this year. We are finalizing the cheer schedule, practices start Monday, December 1 at Twin Cities Academy in the Cafeteria. • JV Boys' Hockey: The Boys' Hockey program is hosted by St. Paul Academy. Preseason Captain's practices have already started! Charter Stars Update

Congratulations to our Varsity Coed Soccer team! They have 1 tie and 3 wins so far this season. Keep up the good work! Come cheer the team on at our home game on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 5:30pm again Hmong Academy. We play our home games at the Arlington & Arkwright field in St. Paul, near 35E and Larpenteur.

Our Cross Country runners had their first race and will be running one or more races per week for the rest of the season. Good luck and keep up the pace! Come cheer on our runners at our Charter Stars Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 5pm at the Como Park Pavilion (on Lexington & Horton Avenues) in St. Paul.

Come cheer on our JV & Varsity Volleyball players at our next home game on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 5pm (JV) and 6:30pm! We play in the TCA gym. Go Stars!

JV & Varsity Boys' Basketball (grades 9-12). Season starts Monday, November 10. Registration and practice/game schedules will be available starting Monday, October 13. Led by Head Coach Coughlin, a TCAHS teacher. We hope to have enough players register so that we can invite Asst. Coach Corcoran to join us for the entire season. Activity Fee of $150 payable to your attendance school.

Varsity Girls' Basketball (grades 8-12 since this is a new program). Season starts Monday, November 17. Registration and practice/game schedules will be available starting Monday, October 13. Led by Coach Wiggen, a TCA teacher. Activity Fee of $150 payable to your attendance school.

Cheerleading (grades 9-12). Season starts Monday, December 1. Registration and practice/game schedules will be available starting Monday, November 10. The Cheerleading team will be led by new Coach Morrison, a TCA teacher. Activity Fee of $150 payable to your attendance school.

JV Boys' Hockey (grades 8-12), hosted by St. Paul Academy (SPA). Season starts Monday, November 10. There is a preseason Captain's Practice schedule, play begins Tuesday, Sept. 16 and the practice fee is $225, payable to Steve Sedlacek (SPA parent). Activity Fee for the season is $450 payable to SPA.
