Girls' Varsity Season Highlights:

The Girls' Varsity team were undefeated in league play this year and have secured the top seed in this weekend's State tournament. The gals had their best finish ever at the Centrals tournament in Ames, Iowa earlier this month.  They even scored an upwinder on universe point to remain undefeated in pool play on that Saturday. On Sunday they lost to the regional champs by 1 point and took 3rd overall, the highest finish of all MN teams.  Our Varsity Girls are the 2015 Conference Champions, making this the second straight year. They ended the season 1st in Conference and 1st in regular season play! The gals are set to supernova at this year's state tournament. Come see 4 year starters Lily & Jian shine bright & take their team to the max this Saturday and Sunday (May 30 & 31)!

Boys' Varsity Season Highlights:

The Boys' Varsity team finished 2nd in conference and 5th in regular season play this season! At the Hopkins Hustle tournament, the team took Hopkins to half, almost pulling out the upset. The team also played a tough regular season game against Mounds View where they went down 5 points in the beginning and surged back to pull out the victory! In the Conference Finals game the team went down 4-10 and then made a big comeback, losing a nail-biting 13-15 in the end. Congratulations to seniors Lucas Bulger and Kunle Ajao on their All-Conference honors this year! Come watch our seniors and team work their star magic this weekend in the State Tournament.

Ultimate Frisbee - Hopkins Hustle Info!

Attention Boys JV ultimate players!

Hopkins Hustle is this weekend, and the majority of players have not completed their online USAU profile and membership, which they need to be able to play in the tournament. Please discuss this with your parents/guardians and complete your registration ASAP.

Please see Scott w/ any questions you might have!

Hey all Charter JV Boys players and parents.

Please read all this stuff!  Thanks in advance!

First of all, we ARE going to the Hustle.  There was some confusion about wording about the JV GIRLS not going, but we are for sure.

Second of all, please make sure you are square with USA Ultimate.  I may contact you in the next few days with some action items that you will need to accomplish online.

Our first game is at 10:15, so we will meet on our field at 9:15.  (Captains meeting is at 9:00, it would be good to have a couple of captains there though I will be there too).
Our fields are as far away from the club house as possible, in the South-East corner. (See attached fieldmap below)
Here is our Saturday Schedule:  (this is from the link below, but know that these things can change up until the tourney starts.)

Please remember to bring an awesome attitude, an expectation for fun, Sunscreen, a change of socks, adequate clothing, snacks and a water bottle.

Players/Coaches-

With a few additional team drops overnight, we were forced to significantly adjust the formatting today. The USAU page is now updated to reflect those changes in both divisions. We have 44 Open Teams and 16 Girls Teams.

Summary of Changes:
-No more power pools in Open division
-Every game this weekend in both divisions is to 13, Hard at 15 (105 minute rounds).
-Girls division starts at 10:15am Saturday
-Majority of Open division starts at 8:30am

Captains Meeting Time Changes:
Early Captains Meeting: 8:00am
Late Captains Meeting: 9:45am (4 Team Pools and Teams with 1st round bye in 5 team pools)

Coaches Showcase Time Change:
Will now start at 5:15pm.

Additionally, I have attached a field map for your reference. Pending any hazardous spots found at the fields (requiring us to shift fields around), this will be unchanged. This will also be at HQ and in our tournament guide on Saturday.

1. Schedule

The schedule and seeding are now posted. Please do check your schedule again on Friday to ensure there are no changes to your Saturday schedule. Cap rules are posted on the event page linked below as well. If you have any major concerns, please reach out.

I will be updating the Girls schedule tomorrow as we had 1 team drop late this evening (down to 17 teams). Girls Pool B will change to a 4 team format (10:00am12:30pm2:30pm).

2. Rosters/Chaperones
Those teams who have not completed the required steps for USAU will be contacted within the next 24-48 hours. Please verify and check that your team has all of its waivers complete, roster submitted, chaperone verified, and is ready to go.

3. Captain's Meeting(s)

We will host two separate captain's meetings due to the staggered start on Saturday morning. Please ensure that you send a representative to one of these meetings and collect your team packet, which includes your pizza ticket for Saturday evening.

Early Start Captains Meeting: 7:30am
Late Start Captains Meeting: 9:00am

4. Coach's Showcase Game & Pizza

We will have a Coach's showcase on Saturday at 5:00pm on the field in front of tournament headquarters. We encourage all coaches to bring their cleats and participate! Each team will receive a ticket for 3 pizzas in the morning (at the Captain's Meeting) and teams are encouraged to stay to watch (and heckle) their respective coaches.

If your team is not planning on sticking around for the Showcase game, and therefore does't need pizza, please let me know.

5. Parking
We ask that you make all efforts possible when it comes to carpooling with teammates to the fields. Our parking space is a limited resource, so please do what you can to help us out! Our volunteers will be there in the morning to guide you. Please be respectful and follow their directions.

Please Carpool! Note: There is NO PARKING allowed on the north side of Turner Road! You will get towed!

Coaches! Make sure to bring your cleats for the game!

6. Field Food/Water
Per usual, we will have bagels and bananas available at HQ both mornings. We will be helping save the earth by using refillable 5 gallon jugs at the fields this weekend. We will have water stations set up at various locations throughout the fields.

Please remind your players to bring nalgenes/water bottles to reuse throughout the weekend!

7. Tournament Gear/Discs
We will have discs and Five Ultimate gear available for purchase at HQ. Cash is preferred, but we will be accepting credit cards. Our inventory is limited this year so make sure to claim your items early!

8. Field Concessions
We will have burgers, turkey burgers, hot dogs, pickles, gatorade, bottled water, coffee, and a bunch of other items available for sale at the fields both days. Concessions will be cash only! Prices are very reasonable so make sure to take advantage!

9. Athletic Trainer
We will have an athletic trainer on site both days. If you need your ankle taped, be sure to show up early to afford yourself enough time! The line will likely be extra long on Sunday morning.
