Calling all rowers - MN Boat Club Junior Open House

The Minnesota Boat Club is holding a Junior Team Open House

on Saturday, February 27th from 10am to 2pm.

Are you 13-18 years old and looking for a new challenge? A new sport? Or a great way to cross-train for a sport you already love?

Rowing might be your answer! Talk to GRS Senior Hannah Hutchinson to hear what great things rowing has offered her!

Come cheer on Senior Hockey player Molly Duggan who plays with the St. Paul Blades, a girls' hockey cooperative made up of many St. Paul schools! 

Thursday, January 28 is her last home game and it's Senior Night. 

Game time is 7pm at Phalen Ice Arena (1320 Walsh St, St Paul, MN 55106) vs. Minnehaha Academy.

Charter Stars Winter Update

The Charter Stars are enjoying an active and successful winter sports season!

Alpine Ski: We are in our inaugural (and test) year with 8 downhill ski racers in grades 7-12! Coach Matt McElrath will lead our skiers at these upcoming races:

• Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Welch Village (Hastings non-conference race)
• Friday, Jan. 15 all-day Welch Village Invitational

Boys' Basketball: The Boys' JV and Varsity teams are off to a great start this season. They are led by Head Coach Louis Wiggen and Assistant Coach Kevin Coughlin. Varsity is 2-0 in conference games and recently came in second at the 2015 Calvin Christian Holiday Tournament. See the online Athletics Calendar for upcoming game dates and locations.

Girls' Basketball: The Girls' Varsity team is in their second year of play and are led by Head Coach Liz Wiggen and Assistant Coach Krissy Siats. The team has won 2 non-conference games so far this season and is 0-1 in conference. See the online Athletics Calendar for upcoming game dates and locations.

Cheerleading: Led by Coach Jackie Morrison, our Stars Cheerleaders provide inspiration and entertainment at most of our home games! Come cheer with them at an upcoming game.

Girls' Hockey - St. Paul Blades Supporters:                                           

Pizza Luce is supporting a fundraiser for the St. Paul Blades, the combined hockey team for female athletes from all of the public high schools and some of the charter schools, including Great River School.

The team will receive a whopping 25% of the proceeds from any of the sales between 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (dine in only) on Tuesday, January 12th. Guests must present this flyer to their server. Alternatively, the flyer can be scanned and sent to your guests who will need to print and present it OR present it on their electronic device.

The restaurant recommends trying to spread out visits as much as possible to avoid the classic dinner rush, but is staffing up to try accommodate. See if locals can get there for lunch!

Upcoming Charter Stars Fall sports events/Boys' Basketball info meeting

The Charter Stars fall sports are entering the last part of the seasons. Come cheer on these teams before the season is over!

• Charter Stars Varsity Soccer has their conference tournament game on Tuesday, October 20 vs. AFSA. Game time is 4:20pm at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Go to Parking Lot E off of 109th. Admission is $5 per car. Kick that ball, STARS!
  
• Charter Stars JV Volleyball team has a tournament on Friday, October 23 at Hmong Academy in St. Paul (1471 Brewster St., 55108). Spike that ball, STARS!
  
• Charter Stars Cross Country team has their conference race on Tuesday, October 20 at 4:30pm at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. Run, STARS, run!!
  
• Wolfpack Football has a Sections game on Tuesday, October 20 at 7pm at Minnehaha Academy.

The Charter Stars Boys' Basketball team (JV and Varsity, Grades 9-12) has their season info meeting on Thursday, October 22 from 5:30 - 6:15pm at Metro Deaf School in St. Paul (1515 Brewster St., 55108).
